My name is Peter Kiral, and I am the founder of Charleston Virtuosi! Our group comprises of wedding, event, and concert musicians from the Charleston and Savannah area.
I got my start in the wedding music industry in 2006. Thinking back to my first gig, it was a small, intimate ceremony at Alhambra Hall in Mt. Pleasant where I was playing
In 2006, I moved to Charleston to study the Artist Certificate Program at the College of Charleston. Before that, I lived in Bratislava, Slovakia — my hometown. Prior to moving to Charleston, I toured around the world with chamber groups and symphony orchestras. For the past several years, I’ve lived between Charleston and New York City where I manage and perform with another music group — The New York Virtuosi. The latter performed at Carnegie Hall and New York Fashion Week. In the Fall of 2007, Charleston Virtuosi was born.
Working with musicians in two different cities, I offer my clients something not many can provide: variety, energy, talent, image, and inspiration. It is due to our unique stance in the industry that Charleston Virtuosi has had the opportunity to perform at quite a few celebrity weddings and VIP events around the city. Our clients trust us! One of them was Olympic figure skater Tara Lipinski.
Together, we’ll do our best to make your dreams come true. We specialize in ceremony string ensembles, from a solo electric violinist and cellist to string trios and quartets. We can arrange a guitarist, harpist, pianist, or flutist in any desired combination. Just let us know what you are looking for, even if you couldn’t find it on our website. We take special and custom requests.
In addition, we have some fantastic cocktail hour bands: jazz, bluegrass, brass, and New Orleans, collaborating with many talented singers! My favorite cocktail hour bands are Le Pumpe Jazz Band and Heather’s Band. And if you are looking for dinner music entertainment, we have a 16-piece Wedding String Orchestra just for you!
Every day, I get to work with some of the best musicians and wedding planners in the industry; I am blessed. I love what I do, and that passion permeates throughout our work and performances.
